The Shimmer in Between (5 - 15 March 2026)

Gallery NWC - 188 Katoomba St, Katoomba, NSW, Australia

Translucent layers bathed in colour, where light lingers on a slow unfolding of place, memory and the shimmer in between.

The Shimmer in Between traces quiet connections between place and memory, presence and feeling, what is seen and what is sensed. Through translucent layers bathed in colour and light, these encaustic works offer a slow unfolding of form and atmosphere.

They are meditations on restoration and care, not only for the natural world, but for the ways we relate to it. Rooted in the Australian environment, yet open to emotional and imaginative space, this work leans toward hope, listening, and lightness.

In the shimmer between land and water, surface and depth, I invite stillness, wonder, and a gentle re-seeing. Created with encaustic — a natural, archival medium made from beeswax, damar resin, and pigment — these works carry their own organic memory, holding light, breath, and the rhythms of transformation.

Opening Celebration: Saturday 7th March (2-4pm)

2nd Celebration (Finissage): Saturday 14th March (2-4pm) Live music in the gallery with Lou Goryl - Coinciding with the Blue Mountains Music Festival
